During the Ram Navami celebrations in Malda, members of the Muslim community continued their annual tradition of serving water and sweets to devotees participating in the religious procession. The initiative was carried out at two key points in the town — Post Office More and the Raj Hotel area — both of which serve as central locations through which the procession passes.
This practice has been followed for years and was once again implemented this year. Members of the Muslim community set up stalls at these locations from where water and sweets were distributed to the participants of the Ram Navami procession. The act took place throughout the duration of the event, offering refreshments to large numbers of devotees walking in the heat.
The Ram Navami procession in Malda draws significant participation every year, with thousands walking through major roads of the town to mark the occasion. The support effort by the local Muslim community was consistent with past years, and the arrangement was made voluntarily by residents of the surrounding areas.
